Telangana is the 29th State. The state has achieved separate statehood on June 2nd, 2014. Through the constitutional and jurisdictional acts and the other articles mentioned in the Constitution of India Telangana was incorporated into the state charter.
Origin of the name Telangana
The origin behind the name of Telangana is an interesting fact. Legends say that the name of Telangana derives from Trilinga Desa. Lord Shiva who is the God in this part of the country descended in Linga form in one of the three mountains of Trilinga Desa. One of these mountains was Telangana.
Sharing Capital with Andhra Pradesh
